Graduate Student Spotlight: Caitria DeLucci from the Department of Sociology

What department are you a graduate student in?

Sociology.

Why did you decide to go to graduate school?

I went to graduate school because I was idealistic. I saw graduate school as a way to garner the tools I needed to affect positive social change.

Did your interests change throughout your program?

Yes. My research interests became more refined the more I read in my area. My current research interests are gender, digital media, and social movements.

What do you want to do with your advanced degree?

With my advanced degree, I hope to get an applied job. Applied work appeals to me because I like the idea of producing positive social change through active intervention.
