What department are you a graduate student in?  

I am in the MPH program.

Why did you decide to go to graduate school? 

To build on my background as a Biology Major and integrate science with Public Health to help me get a diverse background and skill set for my career.

Did your interests change throughout your program? 

I started out wanting to do work in the field, interacting with people and bringing education/resources to them directly. I now am looking to go more into the research aspect and work in areas like chronic diseases, maternal fetal health or even policy. Places where I can work on the root of the problem.

What do you want to do with your advanced degree?

I would ideally see myself working for the CDC and  eventually finding my way into launching my own non-profit organization targeted towards increasing access to mental health resources and facilities and eliminating financial, cultural and stigma based barriers.
