Undergraduate Spotlight: Stella Nunes from the Department of Political Science

What is your major and why did you choose it?
Political Science. The polarized nature of ideologies and politics globally has always sparked curiosity within me and prompted me to take interest in political science as my major. By choosing to pursue a degree in political science, I aspire to think analytically about systemic issues in order to raise theoretical questions about the nature of politics and public policy. I also chose Environmental Science and Policy as my minor because of my commitment to an ethical future that ratifies environmental sustainability, all of which propels me to obtain these skills and apply them to a career in public policy/law.

What do you want to do with your major after graduation?
I am considering careers in environmental law and policy. Currently, I am in the process of LSAT prep and looking at prospective law schools. The plan (hopefully) is to go straight to law school after graduation.

What is your favorite thing about being a COSSPP student?
I would have to say the courses and professors. I really enjoy being able to choose from the variety of classes/subjects within the department and the variety of elective courses as well.

Stella Nunes is a COSSPP student majoring in Political Science.
